Brenda Pokrzywinski

Brenda Pokrzywinski, 68, of Warren, MN, saw the face of Jesus and passed away on Friday evening, January 16, 2026, in her home under the care of hospice, with her family by her side.

Brenda Kay Rosten was born on January 2, 1958, in Warren, to Harold and Grace (Norland) Rosten. She grew up in Stephen, MN, and Warren, graduating from Warren High School in 1976. On September 18th of that year she was married to Rolland Pokrzywinski in First Lutheran Church of Stephen. The couple made their home in Stephen for a time before settling in Warren for the remaining 49 years of their married life. Brenda was a great mother and was so supportive and helpful with her children, Michael and Stacy, in the ODC and other activities. She enjoyed bike rides around town, outings with her kids or the dogs, or doing her best to keep Rolland in line with that knowing look and wag of her finger. Her favorite things were pampering herself a little: doing her nails, getting her hair done, or enjoying a pedicure.

Over the years Brenda worked any number of places, including Lafond's Cafe, housekeeping at the Elm Crest Motel, and cleaning at the hospital in Warren. She eventually stayed home with her children and was the “rock” for her family; her husband's “right hand;” the love of their lives who only wanted the best for them.

Though she was only recently diagnosed with ALS and it progressed rapidly, we can pray for the best for her: that the God who loves her will take her to Himself, and that she may await us when our time comes at last.

She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Rolland; two children at home, Michael and Stacy; her siblings, Lenora, Beverly, and Gregory and their families; and all the extended Pokrzywinski family who took her in as one of their own.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Harold and Grace; mother-in-law, Stella (Earl) Fitzsimmons; and siblings, Robert and Karen.

FUNERAL SERVICE; 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Warren, MN.
VISITATION: One hour before services.
INTERMENT: in the spring in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Warren, MN.
